 midburn 2017

Hupu (Hoopoe) is the national bird of Israel.

In 2017, with the help of a team of fellow artists - we brought Hu:pu to  Midburn - a temporary city in the desert. We wanted to bring this cultural symbol to life, and create an embracing haven - providing shade at the and fire at night. It was a place of gathering, under a 12.5 meter wide bird that is sipping the nectar of a flaming lotus, you could listen to concerts or watch a fire show.

After a week in the desert, the bird found a new home, and you can visit her in the central square of Midreshet Sde Boker.
