Yael is a teenager from Israel and an arm amputee. Yael always wanted to play the violin, a dream that seamed unreal - until she met our R&D team at TOM. based on our 3D printed prosthesis, we developed a module that allowed Yael to play the violin for the first time. It was not an easy task, there were many musical and argonomical challenges, the movement should be very fine and smooth, natural and soft. The direction, pressure and movement will all determine the fine sounds the strumming is creating, but eventually we were able to create a prosthesis that allows Yael to make her dream come true.
